Adventures with Ann Marie
The adventures and experiences of a mother and wife living in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Welcome to “Adventures with Ann Marie” focusing on the Adventures and Experiences of a Mom, Wife and Woman living in the Brainerd Lakes area.
Obviously, I am Ann Marie, a wife and mother of 3, ranging from pre-teen to late teen. I was born in Minnesota, but grew up on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Sixteen years ago I moved back home to Minnesota and lived in the Northwest Suburbs of Minneapolis. In 2011, my family packed up and moved to “God’s Country” or “Up North”, as we called it in the cities. Now I fondly refer to Brainerd and Baxter as “Minnesota’s Playground”.
For people living in places like Cape Cod and Brainerd, it is very easy to just live life but never experience the area for all it has to offer. This is what I realized after leaving Cape Cod. There were so many things to do and adventures to have that I just dismissed because “I was not a tourist”, but tourists do those things because they are fun. Now when I go back to Cape Cod, I do all the fun tourist stuff. Living here in Brainerd and Baxter, I don’t want to make that mistake again, that is why “Adventures with Ann Marie” was created.
“Adventures with Ann Marie” will be dedicated to my adventures and experiences here in Brainerd, Baxter and the surrounding areas. I will cover everything from shopping in Downtown Brainerd to wakeboarding on Gull Lake, dining to horseback riding and anything else I think would be fun, interesting, adventurous. They may be things I have never done before, the list is endless. Hey, I will even do things suggested by my readers! So if there is something you want to know about, send me an email and I will check it out (within reason, please). I may even go ice fishing this winter or scuba dive the mines at Cuyuna Recreation Area. You never know what I might do or where I may end up.
It is my hope that “Adventures with Ann Marie” will help visitors to Brainerd and Baxter find fun and new things to do along with open up new adventures to the locals who may think some things are just for a “tourist”.
