Brainerd Lakes Area Fishing Report: June 20, 2017
Fishing has been great and seems to be getting better.
Fishing has been great and seems to be getting better. We have caught some big walleyes the last two weeks from shallow, wind -blown weed beds pitching jigs and crank baits on calm days. Slip bobbing and leeches seem to be the best.
The pike have been hammering jigs from shallow weeds with the warmer weather. Some of the bigger fish have moved out to the deeper water as the thermal cline has started to stabilize. Large minnows and deep diving crank baits seem to be producing the best.
Panfish are moving deeper slow trolling beetle spins and small jigs have been the best search tool. Once located they seem to cooperate.
Muskies are being caught in six feet of water casting jerk baits and smaller buck tails in low light conditions.
Give us a call, we have some openings and can get you on some fish and teach you some new techniques.
